Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash System

Don’t worry, I haven’t been caught in the cult of “germs are bad”.  Nor do I think that not having to touch the dispenser, while still having to touch the taps, makes any difference.

So why am I bothering to mention the system if I’m dismissing the two most pushed selling points; especially since the technology is nothing new and interesting? We’ve had sensors that detect hand movement (or presence) for years.  Decades even.

There are two reasons I like the No-Touch hand wash system.

Firstly, having to press a plunger to get the soap out leaves yet one more thing to be cleaned.  It’s bad enough to have to wash your hands, then the tap(s), but then you have to wash the soap dispenser. Lazy?  Perhaps.  Though after I’ve been working on something dirty, I want to spend as little time on clean-up as possible.

Secondly, it’s yet to leave a “post dispensing” dribble on the countertop, or clog up with a ‘plug’ of soap over time, as nearly every other soap dispenser I’ve used. I don’t know how they’ve done it; whether the secret is in the soap or dispenser, or whether it uses some amazingly advanced alien technology.  It works. That’s all I care about.

If either of those reasons appeal to you, then you might like to pick one of these up.
